Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the B.Sc. In agriculture. Now you would be saying why I am saying like that, actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. The most significant thing which should be emphasized is that LPU is the first private university which has been approved by ICAR. I along with my cousins had visited the fields, labs. In order to infuse understanding on emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture field visits are conducted to neighbouring farms, orchards and nurseries. Not only subject related education is imparted but also the professional enhancement is added by the university through the different courses like soft skills and communication skills. Major Highlights of the programme that I would be highlighting over here are as follows: a)The course would impart knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts and techniques of maintaining and enhancing soil fertility, crop production, crop management, crop improvement, biodiversity and sustainability of agriculture worldwide. Hello Sameeksha, I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute. One of my cousin is currently doing B.Sc. (hons) Agriculture in LPU and he told me that the cutoff for honours programs are sightly higher then the rest of the courses. The cutoff is more than 40% as compared to 30% for the other programs. Moreover, this cutoff keeps on changing every year LPU is the only private university that has ICAR approval. Agriculture is a growing sector in the present times and emerging as a field of opportunities. Agriculture is the right career option for the future of development.
