Being a alumni of Lovely Professional University, I would say Lovely professional University School of Agriculture is among Punjab and India's Best Agriculture colleges. The university has well-equipped Laboratories, Library, lecture rooms, and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. LPU is First private University in India which is approved by ICAR. I did MBA from LPU, During my post graduation years I had few friends from agriculture department, Sometimes I used to visit fields, Labs with them they also discussed about placements, academic, placements etc. So I have Idea about this course. Few Points I am sharing which will help you to know more about B.Sc. (Hons)Agriculture course:- Students learn about the latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture. LPU lays thrust on carrying out research in agricultural and allied fields. The university has well-equipped laboratories, library, lecture rooms, and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. Emphasis on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture students done research on Project on Floating Island-The project involves the introduction of floating islands for water management and improving sanitation and regulation of water quality & restoration of the water table with the help of biological agents. Students hitherto organic yields of Spinach, Cauliflowers, Cabbage, Turnip, Radish, Carrots have been well accepted by local consumers at University, who have liked these for quality, taste, appearance and appeal. LPU becomes India's first Private University to get ICAR Accreditation. LPU focuses on quality education a lot and all the professors of LPU are highly qualified and friendly, LPU also focuses a lot on practical knowledge and agriculture students of LPU has to go through various practical tasks and projects which makes it very easy to understand the concepts and develop a deep knowledge of the subjects. In order to provide a basic understanding of emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture, field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards, and nurseries. Along with that LPU trains you for placements by conducting placement classes. It will train you for the group discussions and personal interviews and will teach you more on improving your communication skills and reducing your stage fear which most of the colleges do not teach you.

Yes, it is I won't say it's the best college when compared to other government universities. LPU is the first private University in India that is ICAR accredited by ICAR. There are some private colleges in Maharashtra also which you can admission through the payment as far I listened they are not up to mark. When coming to faculty in LPU most of the faculty will be Ph.D. candidates they are good at teaching and very helpful for the students. Unlike government university's faculty's cannot skip the lectures in LPU. At the end of the semester, the faculty need to cover the skipped lectures too by conducting extra makeup classes. Research work is upto mark in LPU Placements - LPU is trying to get placements. Companies visited are Tata Rallis, NCDEX, Chanuka, smur Agro, Pragya, Reliance, etc. LPU trains you for placements by conducting placement classes. It will train you for Group discussions and personal interview and will focus on improving your communication skills and reducing your state fear which most of the colleges do not teach you. LPU also conducts classes for the students who want to prepare for Masters from 3rd year onward. In Lpu you can do internships, jobs from the final year onward. For government university's you are allowed from 4th year. You can do a job/ internship from the 4th year itself. Diversity will be more in LPU you can make friends from almost all states and few countries too. When diversity is concerned no university in India can beat LPU. Lab and filed work are also good. There is a student organisation in Agriculture also AGRINIANS and Agros you can also join in it for developing your skills. LPU is just like the more REAP the more you get. I hope this helps you.

Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the B.Sc. in agriculture. Eligibility for admission in this course is as follows (a) 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or (b) 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or (c) 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent *Condition of English as a subject may be waived off provided the candidate has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) Now you would be saying why I am saying like that, actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. The most significant thing which should be emphasized is that LPU is the first private university which has been approved by ICAR. I along with my cousins had visited the fields, labs. In order to infuse understanding on emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards and nurseries.
