Is LPU good for studying B.Sc in agriculture? Will I face any problem in getting jobs in India or abroad after the same?

Hi, LPU is known for B.Sc. In agriculture and its degree is valid in India and abroad as well. One of my cousins graduated in this course from LPU and I will highlight some of the features. 1. LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. 2. The faculty is well qualified and most of them are Ph. This and provide full support to the students. 3. The best thing is the University does not compromise with the academics as all the lectures are held and if a faculty wants a leave either the makeup lectures are planned or adjustments are provided for that particular slot. 4. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. 5. University provides additional placement oriented classes and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etc. as part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, and many other firms. Thanks.

Hi there, Agriculture is a very specialised field these days. There are ample job opportunities in this field provided you have the right skillsets. If we SEE the placements for Agriculture students, LPU takes the cake. Last year in a first for Agriculture institutions across the country, Kavita Faman a LPU student secured a package of INR 1 CRORE with a food processing international major Monsanto LLc. Always remember, your placement is on basis of two things: 1. How much you have learned from your degree and how much you can apply in the real time situations in your job. 2. Undoubtedly, LPU is the right place for B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture. Hi, Agriculture is a high demand career these days. For any agriculture course from undergraduate to doctoral, LPU is the first private University having ICAR accreditation in INDIA. Monikasiv, LPU is UGC approved autonomous university. It is best to study B.Sc Agri. from LPU as it is a brand name in the field of education. As for ICAR approval, it is a govt. process and concerned body will take their own time however we have initiated process after successful pass out of first batch B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture (in May 2015) as per ICAR guidelines. Furthermore, ICAR is an accreditation body not a regulatory body as in case of MBBS (Medical council of India) and B.V.Sc.(Veterinary council of India) which accredit our program and advise changes (if any needed) to run the program whereas no permission is required from ICAR for such programs.At the same time, number of students from first batch have qualified for JRF test (conducted by ICAR) and cleared with merit positions. Thereby availing ICAR awarded scholarship for doing M.Sc. in various branches of Agriculture namely Plant breeding, Vegetable sci., Entomology, Agricultural statistics etc. in top agricultural universities by Govt. of India. Some of these first batch students are also pursuing their M.Sc. in various state agricultural universities (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore; Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur; sher e kashmir university of agricultural sciences and technology, Jammu; Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur etc. on scholarships (as cleared with merit positions) as discussed above. Similarly, a few students have also been working with various private industries like TATA Rallis India, Zenesis Agroscience And Consulting Pvt. See, LPU is a deemed University. Its environment is good and records are good, but you have to make sure that you get campus placement because if you don't get a job from campus then you may face some problem.
