    LPU offers more than 200 programmes. It is one of leading private universities in North. In the short span of time it has grown so much that major recruiters from the industry visit LPU for the placement purpose. LPU provides a great academic exposure to its students. It is a UGC-approved university which has been ranked well by various agencies on the basis of its infrastructure, its faculty, its placements, its teaching practices, etc. In the situation of Covid-19, LPU has relaxed their eligibility norms.     Hi Narain, Lovely Professional University is absolutely a perfect institutions for mechanical engineering. Appearing in a GATE is not necessary. However a candidate can appear in LPU NEST to enhance or to get the scholarship. Being an education consultant I would refer the recent NIRF rankings released by MHRD in 2020 where LPU comes under top in best institutions of India.     Dear Narain, GATE is not mandatory to apply for the M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering programme at LPU. You can appear for the LPU NEST exam for the programme and get admission easily. My friend also completed B.Tech and M.Tech from LPU itself. Good Placement: Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which they are placed. The maximum package availed for the Engineering programme is 42 LPA till now.     LPU is good for Mechanical Engineering. Good placements in core company as well as multinational companies.
