LPU is a recognized university under section 2f of UGC act in the year 2005. You can check the link below for more information: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.lpu.in/about_lpu/accreditation.php" style='word-wrap:break-word;'>http://www.lpu.in/about_lpu/accreditation.php</a> ICAR is a government process and concerned body will take their own time however we have initiated process after successful pass out of first batch B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture (in May 2015) as per ICAR guidelines. Furthermore, ICAR is an accreditation body, not a regulatory body as in case of MBBS (Medical Council of India) and B.V.Sc (Veterinary council of India) which accredit our program and advise changes (if any needed) to run the program whereas no permission is required from ICAR for such programs. At the same time, number of students from first batch have qualified for JRF test (conducted by ICAR) and cleared with merit positions. Thereby availing ICAR awarded a scholarship for doing M.Sc. in various branches of Agriculture namely Plant breeding, Vegetable sci., Entomology, Agricultural Statistics, etc., in top agricultural universities by Govt. of India. Some of these first batch students are also pursuing their M.Sc in various state agricultural universities (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore; Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur; Sher-E-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu; Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur, etc., on scholarships (as cleared with merit positions) as discussed above. Similarly, a few students have also been working with various private industries like TATA Rallis India, Zenesis Agroscience And Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Omics Group etc. where placement has been done either on campus or through joint campus drives. Since our students are accepted by ICAR funded state agricultural universities as well as by ICAR for scholarships, so there is no question about validity of degree. But it will be difficult to give time frame at this moment for approval.

Yes, LPU is ICAR and UGC recognised. In addition to this, LPU is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA) and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
