Is LPU the best college for civil engineering?

Dear Vishnu, Yes, LPU is the best college for Civil Engineering. My friend did B.Tech in Civil at LPU. The following are the highlights of Civil engineering in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their the highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of B.Tech programme in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship programme which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can SEE actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. 7. Career oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. None the less, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is prerequisite for any Civil Engineer. 8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs are based on field testing where experimental work is to be done, e. g. Soil Lab & Surveying Lab. Hello Vishnu, A Big Yes ! Is my answer but why I am saying this? Let me explain. I have done my graduation with B.Tech CSE from the LPU (2015 Batch). I have a lot of friends who have done and doing the civil from LPU. As per all the feedback and which I have experienced in LPU. LPU is one of the best places to pursue CIVIL engineering in India. LPU follows the practical approach through lab practices and projects to enhance the knowledge in environmental, highway engineering, construction management, etc. School of civil engineering also provides professional enhancement, National, and International Projects, Industrial visit, etc. A big number of campus placement drives with esteemed brands used to held every year. Last year the maximum package was 19.75 LPA by Sobha Realty. Apart from this Students are placed in brands like Gammon India, National Highway Authority of India, HCC, Shapoorji & Pallonji, DLF Homes, RITES Ltd. , NCC, SAIL, DMRC BHEL, KEC INTERNATIONAL LIMITED etc. As per my friend's experiences, those are graduated in civil from LPU. LPU is Imparting knowledge through site visits, case studies, real-time designs of structures. It has well-equipped lab facilities like concrete testing, cement testing, soil testing, surveying, highway material testing, and structural mechanics. They are Teaching through PPTs, videos, images, and animations. Yes, of course it is. Hi, In Civil Engineering emphasis is on the evolution of manmade infrastructure as they understand that how they have evolved to the present scenario. With advancement of technology in leaps and bounds the future of civil engineering in the years to come will be crucial, especially with the establishment of smart cities. My Friend in this domain at LPU was telling me that Students are exposed to different practical oriented fun games and learning activities such as competitions, quizzes, workshops, live projects, etc. Which create an opportunity for students to engage and hone up their analysis, design and drawing skills which is required at industry. Intellectual Industry officials regularly visit school for guiding faculty members and students itself. Workshops are being arranged for enhancing student knowledge. : Experienced faculty members of the discipline nominated as mentors to eligible students which resulted in students satisfaction and improved placements. Engineering students. The school in co-ordination with Division of Career Services has moved from strength to strength and has placed many students in national and international organizations like Al-Rakha, Simplex, Cognizant etc.
