Is M.Sc. Data science, a 5 year integrated course better at CIT, PSG or Amritha University, Coimbatore?

Hi, In case of CIT there are 60 seats for M.Sc. Data Science and there are 40 seats in PSG Tech for the same course. In CIT the admission takes place on the basis of the cut-off obtained in the board exams, ENTRANCE EXAM CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE followed by THREE LEVEL OF INTERVIEWS. If you clear this you will get admitted into the college. AND, IN THE CASE OF EXCEPTION IF YOU ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN DATA Science or, IF YOU ARE WHOLE MINDED THAT YOUR FUTURE IS PURELY BASED ON COMPUTERS, THEN GO FOR THE MANAGEMENT SEATS. You can go for B.Sc. CT, IT, Maths or any computer related U. G programme offered by many prestigious colleges (like PSG College of Arts and Science, Bishop Heber, St. Joseph, etc. ). And prepare for P. G entrances, then join MCA in NIT Trichy, or other NITs that offer MCA institutes which is more worthy than these two institutes.

Actually in 2014, I was with the same question, there is no predetermined number of management seats as per past years intake because, it is a self financing course and not government aided one. In case of CIT there are 60 seats for M.Sc Data Science and I guess there are 40 seats in PSG Tech for the same course. In CIT, the admission takes place on the basis of the cut-off obtained in the board exams, ENTRANCE EXAM CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE followed by THREE LEVEL OF INTERVIEWS. If you clear this you will get admitted into the college. In case of PSG tech I dont know the exact process. One kind advice, please dont go for management seats its too costlier and giving such a big amount is a tedious process. Considering the value of money I am saying this. Money is one of the biggest burden for the parents if you are from the middle class family because, at CIT semester fees is about 65,000 plus 4,000 to 5,000 exam fee per semester totally you will spend nearly 1,40,000 per year and that excludes the hostel fees(roughly about 40,000 for boys and 45,000 for girls per year including mess charges). The fee is 2025% more than this in PSG Tech. AND, IN THE CASE OF EXCEPTION IF YOU ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN DATA SCIENCE OR, IF YOU ARE WHOLE MINDED THAT YOUR FUTURE IS PURELY BASED ON COMPUTERS, AND THEN IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR PAYING THE CAPITATION YOU CAN GO FOR THE MANAGEMENT SEATS. OTHERWISE PLEASE (TAKE MY WORDS) PLEASE DONT GO FOR IT. Let me explain a scenario, (for those people who will not get a merit based seat and not having enough wealth to pay for the management seat but are interested in computer oriented studies) Please go for B.Sc CT, IT, Maths or any computer related U.G program offered by many prestigious colleges(like PSG College of Arts and Science, Bishop Heber, St.Joseph, etc) and prepare for P.G entrances, then join (MCA in NIT Trichy, or other NITs that offer MCA) institutes which is more worthier than these two institutes. And also guys I say it again and again this will save you more financially. This is for the students who is looking for just a degree and going to take care of business or any other ideas. Guys very simple please don't waste 5 years and your wealth. Do a degree in a college just for the name sake.
