If you wish to make your career in mass communication then surely you can opt for mass communication for your further studies.

A lot depends on your career choice. If you are interested in a teaching profession you can go for an M.A. In economics and then a Ph.D. which would make you a professor in a college besides other job profiles like: Economist. Consultant. Professor. Policy Analyst. Budget Analyst. Market Resear

Yes, you can become an a good mass communicator of economic affairs as you have done the eco hons, so you can specify yourself into mass communication with eco specialisation.

It's a good choice. But, in my opinion, why don't you do MBA if you did BA Economics ( Honours )? Just think over it. Best of luck for future !
