Generally, Maharaja Surajmal Institute is categorized as Tier 2 college. The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and is in good repute in Delhi pertaining to academic courses especially the BBA, BCA, and MBA programs. However, no such national recognition or status is seen to exist due to the fact that it is not compared to the top-tier colleges in the country, like the Delhi University colleges or IITs.
