    Manipal Academy of Higher Education was established in 1953 and has been granted the Institution of Excellence status by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is a private university and is located in Karnataka. Further, Manipal Mahe University has off-campuses in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Jamshedpur, as well as an offshore campus in Dubai (UAE). MAHE Manipal Karnataka is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has also been granted Institution of Eminence status by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
