Dear Anannya, If you want to get admission in good Universities or Colleges you must give CAT MAT. Well if you are aiming for the top-tier colleges, you do require CAT but there are many other options too that you can opt and those will not require for you to write CAT/MAT. But entrance exams are mandatory and if not CAT/MAT, you will definitely have to give any other exam like CMAT XAT SNAP NMAT so on and so forth, for the admissions. I hope your query is resolved. If you want to take admission in government university or india's best management universities in private sector, then it is mandatory. But if you want to done MBA from any normal college or university then it does not matter whether you appear in MAT/CAT or not.
