Firstly remember in life that "mathematics is mother of all sciences" now for engineering so, it not all about mathematics but applicative mathematics is used in engineering n core mathematics subject u have to study till three semester i.e maths 1, maths 2, maths 3
N at rest of the engineering u have to use some part of mathematics as their engineering application
Some subjects like operation research, strength of material and design etc are dependent on your maths skill.

B.tech is Bachelor of technology. It can be pursued in various streams.Maths is compulsory subject in at least the first year of each stream. The amount of maths to be studied in the subsequent years depends on the stream of engineering. But maths is an integral part of b.tech. You have to encounter maths in various forms. It is a part of all subjects like physics and chemistry. Doing b.tech is very difficult if one is afraid of maths since if not as pure maths, calculations and equations need to be studied everywhere in engineering.

Both IPU and DU are public/ government universities and are one of the oldest universities. DU admissions are tough because of the high cutoff for some colleges, whereas for IPU, admissions are comparatively easy for some colleges with low cut-offs. The infrastructure of colleges affiliated with IPU is comparatively better than that affiliated with DU. The fee is another factor that makes DU a preference among students. In the end, it depends on the students, which university is better for them.
