Yes, for doing Honours degree, you have to have maths in your school during 12th class. It's prevailing for both B.Com and economics Honours.

No, but the criteria for admission in economics honors is as follows you should have studied mathematics in his/her 12th standard. One language i.e. English is to be included in the best four subjects for cut-off purposes. If you want to get admission in the best colleges, you have to get atleast 96
