Is maths necessary for pursuing CA?

Yeah it is possible but you will find CPT maths really tough if you skip it in your 11th and 12th.
Stuff like limits, derivatives, integration, probability and all will be completely new to you and then to grasp it all in a period of 2 to 2.5 months after your 12th and before your CPT, along with accounts, law and eco will be very difficult.
It is not impossible but knowing maths helps a lot in CPT. You will be eligible to give CPT irrespective of you taking maths in 11th and 12th.
Maths will almost completely disappear for IPCC but it will come back in FM for CA final.
