Is MBA in finance and a PG Diploma in banking and finance same in terms of value?

    Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. In my opinion, I would not recommend you to do a specialised PGDM (unless its from an illustrious institute with an excellent placement record). Instead you can always opt for broader fields such as a PGDM in finance from good institutes such as NIMIMS, SIMSR, Welingkar, SP Jain, etc. Coz these institutes have a very good track record and are trust worthy. You an also look at options such as an MBA or MS programs in India. Yes, getting into these institutes is not easy, and hence their excellent track record! If it is easy to get into an institute, it sure does not have value!

    It is not necessary that a PGDM is equal to MBA because if PGDM is to be an equivalent to MBA then the college offering the PGDM course must have accreditation from AIU (The Association of Indian Universities). .

    Both have different curriculum. So, we can not compare both courses. The opportunities are not so much within the type of degree, as it is within the individual who has the degree. Opportunities are always there. It is up to you to take advantage of them through creative and critical thinking, assertiveness, perseverance, commitment, positive attitude, and the ability to think through long-term benefits.     Yes, both are of equal value. The only difference is between the affiliation. MBA require a university affiliation and PGDM requires an AICTE approval.
