Is MD equal to MBBS?

Dear Bisma,
In India, MBBS is a primary degree and MD is awarded after MBBS. In many other countries abroad the primary degree is called MD which is considered equivalent to MBBS degree.

It is not equal in our country but a country like Russia do award MD which is equivalent to MBBS in India.
