    MDU Rohtak was established in 1976 by an act of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. It is located in Rohtak, Haryana, about 75 km from Delhi.

    MDU Rohtak is a state government university, established and funded by the Government of Haryana. It functions as a residential teaching-cum-affiliating university.

    MDU Rohtak is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of 'A'. It is ranked among the top universities in India by various national ranking frameworks.

    Established in 1976 by Haryana Act No. XXV of 1975, Maharshi Dayanand University holds an A+ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NZZC). Undergraduate, postgraduate, and other courses in Management, engineering, and other streams are available to students at MDU University through its many component colleges and departments. MDU University has been authorized by the UGC and is ranked 30th in Pharmacy by NIRF 2022.
