Mysore University is an Autonomous University which was established in 1916. The University of Mysore is the sixth the oldest in the country and the first in the state of Karnataka. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Moreover, Mysore University is affiliated with more than 200 institutes. Additionally, the University is located in Mysuru, the cultural centre of Karnataka and is about 140 kms South West of Bengaluru. Apart from full-time programmes, the university also offers various online and distance programmes.
