NCERT books are surely mandatory for preparation of JEE exam. You have to master the basics, and for that NCERT books are best.

Hi Ashmit, NCERT is enough for both JEE for securing a good rank and in board exams too.
Also, refer MCQ type books for JEE preparation.
Solve previous years questions papers to get an idea about the base of the question.
