NEHU Shillong is Public / Government University. North Eastern Hill University was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament. It is ranked 80th by NIRF 2023 under the University (Overall) category and 24th by The Week 2023 under the University (Overall) category. North Eastern Hill University was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament and is a central university. NEHU University has 44 departments and two centres of study under a total of eight schools. Being a central university, the fee for various courses at North Eastern Hill University is not much. It is a very affordable university but if any student finds the fee a little high, they can apply for the scholarships offered by the university. So apply early for this central university as the seats are limited.
