Hi Anand, As Priya has rightly said, the National Open School System is established to help the students who are working/ who may not attend the college full time for some reason or the other yet want to continue their higher education. Each state has NIOS in their state and you can write the exams

Dear Anand, Yes NOIS is surely valid for any Graduation/Post Graduation. Its estabilished by Govt. Of India, HRD ministry. visit its website and post a query on desired program in IIT to get more clarity. Hope this is helpful
