    NIT Hamirpur is a government institute. It was established in 1986 and it is one of the thirty-one NITs in the country. NITH was established by a joint collaboration of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. NIT Hamirpur offers a variety of UG, PG and doctoral courses across streams like Engineering, Architecture, Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Management.

    Set up by joint enterprise and cooperation of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh, NIT Hamirpur is a government Engineering and Technology institute. Additionally, the institute has been ranked 99 by NIRF under the Engineering category in 2021. Also, the institute has signed various MoUs which include Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), Department of Space, GOI; IIT Roorkee; Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College Kangra; among others.
