    According to NIRF 2023, NIT Jalandhar is rated 72nd overall and 46th in the engineering category. Furthermore, India Today 2023 ranks the institute 29th in the Engineering category and 21st in the Engineering (Government) category. In the academic year 2022-2023. a 73.79% placement rate was noted during NIT Jalandhar placements. During the NIT Jalandhar placement 2023, the highest and average packages offered were INR 51 LPA and INR 12.44 LPA, respectively.

    NIT Jalandhar has been ranked 46 among the top Engineering Institutes in India by NIRF 2023. NIT Jalandhar offers a four-year B.Tech course. This course is offered across 11 specialisations. Admission to BTech at NIT Jalandhar is entrance-based. Students need to qualify for a national-level entrance exam, I. e. JEE Main followed by JoSAA Counselling. This exam is conducted by the NTA every year in two sessions. Further, the seats that remain unfilled in JoSAA such seats are filled with CSAB Counselling. To get admission to this course, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and qualify for the respective entrance exam
