A degree of Computer Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra is something you'll boast around forever by virtue of the highly profound faculty members, competitive classmates and highly paid jobs security(if you play your cards right). I'd been there for 2007-2011 batch, and feel privileged to be a part of it. The first year is common for all freshmen and you'll get to know mainly about the college and its processes. The seniors were always helpful in sharing their experiences and warning you about the do's and don'ts for the upcoming years. The actual journey begins with second year when the departmental curriculum kicks off with lectures and tutorials at a rapid fire round and you can hardly keep a track of the day, or week, or even month per say. My suggestion: stay focussed on studies, just be consistent with the course and pay attention in classes, most of the important concepts are very well illustrated and explained in classes itself. In my experience, no professor or lecturer ever got infuriated when we asked to explain a concept even thrice in the same session. They are always happy to help. The laboratories are well equipped as per requirements for hands on knowledge and practical implementations of what you learnt during lectures. The gems of our faculty team are mentioned here: National Institute of Technology , Kurukshetra NIT Kurukshetra provides free books for all students from all departments and year to be taken for the whole semester from its book bank, so you can't complain about the resources to read up as well. There is a library as well where books can be borrowed for a couple of weeks for extra insight. Obviously, the bank and library keeps a limit on the count of books you've taken. The library also has a reading room where you can sit and do your research by yourself. Next is the high speed LAN at hostels which provides good connectivity to each room for you all sort of internet based activities. Late night gaming sessions or high load testing of your network applications can be fruitfully done here. The Computer Engineering Department has its own official society 'Technobyte', which helps the club members to indulge in some technical fests and events, from hosting it up to participating. In also helps understanding the true meaning of teamwork. Its a fun club where people organize events and shows for the college folks. Its fun to be around when there are such fests being held as you can sense the excitement and energy in the air. The placement record of this department is above par. In my batch we had more than 100% placements and that too with all the big names in industry in our list. The training and placement cell helps in the process to invite only recognized and big brands to the campus for placements. That was all about the tangible things this department has to offer. Life at NIT Kurukshetra is something you'll always cherish because no matter how good or bad you performed in all these years, no matter how much you are screwed for low attendance or late coming to classes, no matter how messy you'll find the food or local lingo here, once you leave the place, you feel enlightened. You'll feel contented when you get this college from your JEE mains counselling and you'll feel contented after you exit that gate after four years. You'll get into an amazing experience, get to know some of the finest mind of the country, befriend them, live a life and leave with a lot and lot of memories to cherish.
