Is NIT, Surat better than IIIT, Gwalior for computer science branch? My AIR in general category in JEE Mains 2018 is 7735 (188 marks).

Congratulations. Both Colleges are great, and the decision depends on what do you want afterwards. NIT-Surat has a slight hand over placement. But, honestly Placements depends on student, not on college entirely. See, the college website for the professor's list, their merits and decide. I'm not sure whether you have this information of not IIIT B is an International Institute of IT, unlike all other Indian Institute of IT. It is like a small brother to IIIT-Hyderabad. Being private, it will cost a little (80k more per annum), but in Bangalore, if you want CSE, come to the Silicon Valley itself. Every Professor, Assistant or Associate in IIIT B has Ph.D from International Schools, the UG programme isn't known to a lot of people, and so the cutoff can be really low. If you want a real gear in Engineering IIIT H and B are place to be after top IITs and BITs in ranking. Hyderabad is Better, and so have an over 300 cutoff in Mains.
