North Bengal University, often called the University of North Bengal (NBU), is a public university that receives funding from the government. It's situated in West Bengal, India's Darjeeling district . It was founded in 1962 and is managed by the West Bengal government. It is a state university.
The institution was founded in order to meet the expanding need for labor in the six districts of North Bengal and the neighboring state of Sikkim. Undergraduate, graduate taught-research, PhD, and post-doctoral degrees are all offered.
