    NPTEL courses themselves are completely free to enroll in and learn from. You can access video lectures, study materials, and assignments without any cost.   

    However, if you want to obtain a verified certificate for completing a course, you need to appear for a proctored exam. There is a nominal fee of Rs. 1000/- per course for this exam.   

    So, while learning is free, certification comes with a small fee.
