The trend nowadays is such that in order to get a call, you must score a good percentile. But, after that a lot depends on your academics, work experience, etc. to convert a call. Good academics shows that a candidate is hardworking and can take on the academic rigor of an MBA. So because of this reason they are now giving weightage to academics.
Still, there are some colleges such as FMS Delhi, RTC which does not accord to much importance to your acads. But still if they have a choice between two equally capable candidates, then they for sure will select a candidate with good academics -
