Is only CAT exam percentile required or a good academic background to get selected in a good MBA college?

Both Percentile in CAT exam as well as good academic background is needed for taking admission in a good MBA College and also companies give you better placements only if you have a better academic background.

It varies with the college selection criteria. Every college has its own selection criteria and gives marks according to that criteria.

Good CAT score is very important for getting an admission in tier 1 campus like IIMs. Also, a good academic background will fetch you scholarship from some colleges especially tire 2 and 3 campuses. Try to earn both.

Though the weightage is given more to the CAT score, good academics in graduation, intermediate and high school are also considered in the selection procedure of any B-School.
