Yes Sujatha, LPU offers a part-time Ph.D. in ECE. Let me share details with you. Eligibility: You should have a minimum of 55% marks in your master's degree in a relevant subject. After that, you have to qualify for the LPUNEST exam if you have not qualified for a national level test such as GATE, UGC NET, CSIR, GPAT, etc. The entrance will have 70% weightage in selection. After that, you have to appear for an interview and qualify for the same and have 30% weightage for the final selection. You may avail of scholarships also on the basis of LPUNEST or National Level Test. There is a special scholarship for female students to pursue a full-time or part-time Ph.D. at LPU. The highlight of the program is the Flexi-Course Work option specially designed to accommodate professionals wherein a student can choose the best-suited option to complete the course work. Option 1 Classes on weekends (Saturday & Sunday only) Option 2 4 days course work every month (Preferably every second week: Thu-Sun) Option 3 15 days of coursework (In the month of April/May ) LPU researchers won a huge research grant worth 10.8 Million through the Indo Canadian Impact project from DBT, GOI. Being an LPU alumni I would like to say that LPU has very simple admission process when it comes to Ph.D. For admission to Ph.D. the criteria is 55% aggregates marks in your Masters and you have to qualify interview along with LPU NEST. Also LPU is the only university in India which gives multiple coursework options for Ph.D. (Part time) students like: 1.15-days course work (November/ December 2021) 2.4-days course work every month (September to December, 2021) 3. Classes on weekends (Saturday & Sunday only August to November, 2021) Apart from that Full time Ph.D. students can get teaching assistantship they can earn while learn upto 15500/- LPU has the most advanced labs dedicated to research work Block 38 known as R & D Department. Many labs are maintained by Cisco, Cadence. LPU also has Central Instrumentation Facility which is one of its kind. It has high end instruments and these instruments and facilities help the faculty members, research scholars and students to carry out globally competitive research in basic, applied and medical sciences. The Lab has many instruments like Powder X-ray diffractometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Density Meter, Viscometer, Probe Sonicator, Gas Chromatograph and Mass Spectrometer. Hello Sujatha, Firstly let me congratulate you for atleast thinking of going for Ph.D. It's indeed great to know this. There is nothing like part-time Ph.D. Once you register and selecting your research subject along with your guide, you have three to four years to complete this learning. It's normally not like a full-time course, one does research work as per own convenient timings.
