    The need for an entrance examination as a criterion for enrolling into Masters in Arts programs varies with universities and their respective programs. Most institutions for example will require students to sit for an entrance exam for some of the M.A programs, especially in the dominant fields of studies such as Psychology and English, Political Science among others. Such exams are often meant to test the knowledge and the aptitude of the candidates in the relevant area of study.
