The institute is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly known as University of Pune or University of Poona). SCHMTT Pune is approved by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra (DTE) and recognised by Government of Maharashtra. The institute is also a study center for Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU). SCHMTT has been ranked 4 under 'Best Private Hotel Management Institute in Maharashtra' as per GHRDC Hotel Management Institute Survey 2019.
