Siliguri institute of technology is a private engineering and management college established in 1999 in Siliguri West Bengal India. Initially the college was under North Bengal University and from the year 2004 came under the control of the newly formed West Bengal University of technology. Now renamed as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of technology. The college is a part of techno India group. Siliguri Institute of Technology, or SIT for short, is a private engineering college situated at Siliguri, West Bengal. It was set up in the year 1999 and is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). Formerly known as WBUT. Undergraduate and postgraduate programs are offered in engineering, management, and computer applications by SIT. It is a private institution managed by the Siliguri Institute of Technology Trust and has not had any government funding or running. The college is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of West Bengal.
