Yes, you can join as Electro Technical Officer (ETO), do the ETO course from Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy or Great Eastern Maritime Academy as both are best in terms of placements.

Yes, they do look for good CGPA and for becoming a captain you have to perform well with years of experience needed.
