Savitribai Phule Pune University is a collegiate public state university. It is sometimes referred to as UNIPUNE, Pune University, and SPPU. One of India's top universities, the university is situated in Pune and was founded in 1949 under the Poona University Act. It's referred to as the 'Oxford of the East' and is recognised by UGC.
