Is studying english literature in an foreign university better than Indian universities?
I am a 3rd year btech student and would like to pursue M.A. in English literature. I would like to know the drawbacks of our Indian institutes (if any) when compared to any foreign university.

Mention the names of countries you choose and put the question again. You know, getting a seat in some English-speaking country is very difficult and you have to go through much screening before you are admitted.

No, in my opinion some of the Indian Universities such as DU, JNU etc are better for English literature. Foreign universities are more reputed for management courses of for post graduation in science streams.
