Is studying NCERT books necessary for cracking IPU CET?

1. All NCERT books are written by experts after an extensive research on topics in all facets. The information compiled in them are authentic can never mislead you, hence genuine efforts are added. A number of books with a few exceptions and statistical data have compromising facts and information. 2. Clear and Strong Basics NCERT books cover basics, doubts and fundamentals on all topics for students. These clear concepts on basics play an important role in the preparation of any competitive exam, be it IPU CET. NCERT books explain all basics clearly without any confusion and make it very lucid. 3. Standard Questions All NCERT books contain standard questions. Although they are fewer than questions and are highly organised as in other source books, they are designed effectively to cover the syllabus of the exam to maintain competitive nature. 4. Questions from NCERT Books A number of questions are directly picked from NCERT books, because of its systematic approach. So you must not forget to refer to NCERT books for your preparation without fail and widely recommended for scoring big.

Yes, undoubtedly NCERTs must be referred as a core preparation guide of IPUCET if someone wants to clear the exam with the good score but this is not very easy. NCERT is full of jargon, theories and many subtitles things you will miss while reading. So you need to study sincerely and after that you have to go through other books. Here are some best books for the preparation apart from NCERT books: Physics- Although NCERT have a lot of information which is important to clear out basics, I personally do not think being thorough with the chapters is enough. It is necessary but not sufficient. Follow other books like D.C.Panday "Understanding Physics”, H C Verma "Concept of physics” for questions, both conceptual and numerical. In fact the conceptual section after the end of each chapter in HC Verma is a crucial part of ones preparation. Chemistry- Organic Chemistry - This part has the most number of questions directly from NCERT. The named reactions are their favorite. So don’t forget to revise them before appearing for the exams. Physical Chemistry- The example problems are designed such that each one is different from the other. But this is clearly not enough. Most of the questions in the past years have come from outside of the textbooks. So I would recommend you to buy OP Tondon to solve additional problems. Inorganic Chemistry - This is part where you have to do better. This part requires you to memorise lots of equations amongst others. So keep on learning O. P. Tondon. Mathematics- This is a big subject in which preparation from single is not enough you need to prepare through coaching material and R.D. Sharma Never forget previous year’s question papers of IPUCET.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) conducts IPU-CET for admissions to its various UG and PG level programmes. It is an entrance exam that helps to get admission in the university of choice on the basis of results of IPU-CET exam. The exam is conducted offline mode. IPU CET 2018 question paper will comprise 150 questions in total. Students need to complete the paper in a time duration of 2:30 hours. For every question answered correctly, aspirants would get 4 marks. While for every question answered incorrectly, one mark would be deducted. The questions in the exam will be from physics, chemistry, and mathematics. All the three subjects are given equal weightage. Level of IPU-CET exam is moderate. So, NCERT books of all the subject like mathematics, physics, chemistry of 11th and 12th class become necessary because most of the questions come from NCERT examples, figures and exercise problems. You can easily crack it if you study using NCERT books. But if you want to top the exam, then you need to put some extra effort and study using basic books of preparation of JEE like HC Verma vol 1& 2. Hope it helps.

My answer to this question is yes as well as no. Let me tell you why I said so. In today's world, success is not about hard work it's all about smart work.The competition in exams like IPU-CET is very high. If you have ample of time and currently joined any coaching center and your concepts are clear on each and every topic you may not prefer NCERT. NCERT is used nationwide and is published and edited by government bodies. High profile personalities have written the book. So the Quality of the NCERT books is at par with the others in the market.You will learn a lot of things in less number of hours. Why should I read 80 pages for the same topic, same concept if I can complete it in just 10 pages. So if you want to score well in IPU-CET in minimum time then don't skip NCERT books. Conclusion: NCERT is very necessary if you are going to face any engineering entrance test in India. Especially in chemistry, you can score 100% marks just by completing NCERT book.All you have to do is to learn each and every line of the book.

Hi there, Yes, if you have a good grip over NCERT texbooks you can easily make into top colleges under IPU domain. However, here is some tips to score good marks in IPUCET. Before starting your exam preparation, create a study plan for your preparation. Divide your time equally for all the sections as per your course. Gather all the information about the official syllabus The best and the easiest way is to buy the Previous Year for IPU by Arihant. More or less, almost everything is covered in the book. And you'll get the fair idea on how to proceed for your preparation. A small tip: First try the mock papers on your own even if you can attempt 10% of it with a stop watch on. Then, compare the answers with the solution given and understand your mistakes and the remaining questions you haven't attempted. This will help you boost the confidence later on and will also help in time management. Hope this helps. All the best.
