Is taking a drop necessary for cracking entrance exams like CLAT, NATA, etc.?

No, not needed, with a good coaching, you can crack it easily.

NATA is not necessary, but an individual have to score minimum 80/200 to register in COA & get good college.

In my personal opinion, it does not make sense to drop a year for CLAT to just prepare. If you are so interested, prepare well in the first go itself during the summer break post 12th exams.

I don't think so. It depends on your capabilities and your hard work. I cleared CLAT with Air 193 along with scoring 85% in boards.
