TUM often ranks in the top 30 worldwide as its current QS World University Ranking is #22 for 2026. Meanwhile, the THE Interdisciplinary Science Ranking of the university stood at 13 worldwide. TUM ranked in the top 25 five times as per Shanghai Subject Rankings as well

Based in Germany TUM has consistently ranked amongst the top 50 global universities for more than a decade now.
