No, the Common Admission Test CAT exam is not very tough. It is simply moderately difficult. This is due to the following reasons:
1. There is a high level of competition in the exam. More than 2 Lacs students are writing this exam for just 2500 seats in top MBA colleges.
2. There is a time constraint on reading the comprehension section. The passage can make students waste a lot of time if they have not practiced speed reading.
3. Negative marking is another issue. Due to it, students are unable to take risks in the exam.
4. The time limit of three hours for 100 questions makes the CAT paper appear a bit tough.

Overall CAT has a moderate difficulty level, but it can turn easy for sometimes who start their preparation early and keep practicing all the three sections. If well planned, you can easily crack the CAT!
It just tests your math and logical skills of grade tenth level tenth class. It also tries to evaluate one's managerial ability, I. e. , you have decision-making skills, working under pressure, and managing time. After all, everyone taking up the CAT exam is a future manager. You can do it.
