Both IELTS Academic and General Training tests are more or less similar. However, IELTS Academic can be said to be on the tougher side. It can take 2-4 months to prepare for both IELTS Academic and General Training. Make sure that you familiarize yourself with the syllabus and the test pattern, and practice multiple mock tests to be able to perform in the IELTS exam. When we talk about the IELTS exam Pattern, both IELTS Academic and General Training share a common IELTS Speaking and Listening sections. However, the IELTS Reading and Writing sections are different for both.
