Yes, the NIOS board is considered equivalent to the CBSE ICSE and other state boards. The mark sheet for NIOS is considered valid for the JEE exam. If you have taken math, Physics and Chemistry as subjects in the 12th grade from NIOS, you can appear in JEE Mains and later JEE Advance after qualifying for JEE Mains. Many students enroll in NIOS to improve their PCM scores so that they can apply to top engineering schools. The IITs also recognize the NIOS mark sheet for the admissions process in their B.Tech course.
