    No. The director is the in charge of the camera and the cinematographer is in charge of making it happen. 

    Exposure which is basically the technique of altering camera settings to achieve the intended look of an image is one of the most important problem that the cinematographers face.

    Cinematographers are responsible for the visual execution of the director's vision. They collaborate with the director to achieve the desired look and feel of the film.
