Is the slot number matter while calculating the overall percentile in CAT?

    Slot 2 (Afternoon slot) paper is definitely tougher than the first slot paper. Hence, it is expected that the cutoffs would be lesser than the first slot marks. However, there would be normalization between slots and the same will be taken care of.

    Slot doesn't matter a lot until and unless you are prepared for the entrance. Boost up your confidence, work on your concepts, read newspapers and then you will not be worrying about slots. Focus on your preparation.

    CAT percentile is strictly based on the performance in the open test. Just prepare yourself well and have a go at it. To seek admission among the top 10 institutes you need to score over 95 percentile.

    Marks do matter, but I will suggest, you better concentrate on yourself rather than focusing on marks because the interviewer always search for qualify which is not there in marks.

    It does matter but keep in mind, everybody is treated fairly. Also, why waste time on things which are not in your control?
