    SSC CHSL exam is conducted by staff Selection commission for appointment of candidates to the post of clerk in various departments and ministries under the central government. Hence, it is compulsory to pass the typing test in SSC CHSL exam with a minimum speed of 35 wpm. The time allotted for typing test is 10 minutes and around 1750 characters are to be typed in order to pass the typing test.
    The typing test of SSC CHSL exam is qualifying in nature with maximum of 7% mistakes are allowed for unreserved category.

    Yes, the typing test is compulsory in SSC CHSL but only for certain posts.
    1. The typing test is conducted in Tier III for the posts of lower division clerk, postal assistant, junior secretariat assistant, and sorting assistant.
    2. There is a typing test in both English and Hindi for these post applicants.
    3. If you have not opted for any medium of test in your CHSL application, you will have to give your typing test in English by default.
    4. The time limit for the typing test is 10 minutes in both mediums.
