Is the University of Chicago hard to get into?

<p><strong>The University of Chicago acceptance rate</strong> is <strong>around</strong> <strong>5%</strong>. For the <strong>undergraduate Class of 2027</strong>, the acceptance rate that has been <strong>4.7%</strong>. A total of 38,800 applications were submitted to the university and the total number of applications that got accepted were 1,849. Looking at the acceptance rate, it can be said that UChicago is very selective at the time of admissions. It is at par with some of the top-ranking universities in the US which are very difficult to get into such as <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/usa/universities/harvard-university">Harvard University</a>, <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/usa/universities/stanford-university">Stanford University</a>, <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/usa/universities/massachusetts-institute-of-technology">MIT</a>, etc.</p><p>Though, it is quite evident from the acceptance rate that UChicago is <strong>extremely selective</strong>, but, it is not just the academic factor that is considered for granting admissions.
