    University of Florence was founded in 1321 and is a public research university located in Florence, Italy. It is known to be one of the largest research and higher education organisations in Italy that includes 1,800 structured lecturers and researchers, around 1,600 technical and administrative staff, and over 1,600 doctoral and post-doctoral students.

    The university has multiple campuses around the city in locations such as a scientific campus in Sesto Fiorentino and the campuses of Empoli and Calenzano.
