No, a physical calculator is not allowed during the GATE examination. Candidates will be provided with a virtual scientific calculator during the online GATE 2024 examination. It can be used to answer the questions. Also, mobile phones, physical calculators, wristwatches, or any other electronic items are not permitted inside the examination hall. Therefore, it is important for a candidate to know how to use the GATE virtual calculator provided in the GATE exam. Candidates should practice well before the exam to minimise calculation errors and reach the results quickly.

As per the previous year's guidelines, the use of a physical calculator is not allowed during the GATE examination. Instead, the GATE examination provides a virtual calculator that candidates can use for all calculations during the exam. The virtual calculator is available on the computer screen during the entire duration of the exam. It is advisable to visit the official website of GATE or contact the GATE organizing institute to get the latest and accurate information about the rules and regulations for the GATE 2024 examination.
