    The WBCS syllabus for the prelims and Mains exam is mentioned separately in the official notification. The WBCS Prelims syllabus is somewhat similar to the Mains syllabus, with some overlap in topics. The Prelims exam focuses on testing candidates' general knowledge across various subjects like English, Science, History, Geography, Economics, Polity, Indian National Movement, Mental Ability, and Current Affairs. It consists of 200 objective questions with a total of 200 marks.
