    Yes, there are fees to be paid after securing admission to an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT): 

    Seat acceptance fee

    All eligible candidates pay a seat acceptance fee to confirm their admission. SC, ST, and PwD students pay half the fee of regular candidates. 

    Tuition fees

    Tuition fees for IITs vary between Rs 8–11 lakhs. However, there are fee waivers for certain categories of students: 

    Students from families with an income of less than Rs 1 Lacs have their full tuition fee waived. 

    Students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) with a family income between Rs 1–5 Lacs have two-thirds of their tuition fee
