Hi...
Students at GIBS Business School are highly active in organizing cultural festivals, leadership activities, and sports events, with these activities being a core part of the student life and curriculum designed to build practical skills beyond academics. These events are primarily driven through various student-led clubs and societies.
Cultural Festivals and Events
Students take the lead in planning and executing a wide array of cultural and social events throughout the year, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Annual Fests: The major event is "Enchainer", a national-level management and cultural fest, where students from over 20 colleges participate in various competitions, cultural performances, fashion shows, and singing contests.
- Festival Celebrations: Students actively organize and participate in celebrations for numerous national and religious festivals such as Navaratri, Diwali, Christmas, Holi, Onam, and Makar Sankranti, complete with theme parties and food events to promote cultural exchange.
- Creative Clubs: The Cultural & Creativity Society and the Dramatics Club (Abhinay) provide platforms for artistic expression through dance competitions, art exhibits, music concerts, and theatrical performances.
Leadership Activities
Leadership development is a key focus, and students gain hands-on experience by managing these events and leading various initiatives.
- Student-Driven Societies: Students can lead and join various societies (Marketing, Finance, HR, CSR, AI & Technology, etc.) which are responsible for planning their own calendars of workshops, seminars, and events, providing real-world experience in event management and teamwork.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IRE) School: Students involved in the IRE school organize start-up showcases, business plan competitions, and "IRE Talks" (similar to TED talks), developing entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
- Campus-to-Corporate Transition: Organizing and managing large-scale events like Enchainer allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, enhancing their decision-making, communication, and leadership capabilities under pressure.
Sports Events
Physical activity and sportsmanship are encouraged, with a dedicated sports committee and a well-equipped sports arena.
- Sports Society: The Sports Society actively organizes multiple indoor and outdoor sports activities and tournaments throughout the academic year.
- Facilities and Events: The campus provides facilities for basketball, football, cricket, badminton, table tennis, chess, and carrom board.
- Annual Sports Day: Events like "Kurukshetra" are held to promote teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among students.
